Remember that I went to Pulau Pangkor to join this program on 13-16 Januari? So, now I will tell you all about what is SIFE actually.

Firstly, SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) is an international organization that brings together the top leaders of today and tomorrow to create a better world through the positive power of business. Through projects that improve the lives of people worldwide, the university students, academic professionals, and industry leaders that participate in SIFE are demonstrating that individuals with a knowledge and passion for business can be a powerful force for change.

More than 1,500 attendees representing more than 50 countries at the SIFE World Cup 2008 held in Singapore in October demonstrated the strength of SIFE's international network and global reach. At the SIFE World Cup 2008, the top SIFE teams in the world presented the results of their outreach projects to determine which teams made the most impact on their communities.

SIFE students from 41 countries competed at the 8th annual event with the team from Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada emerging as champion. The first runner-up was Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria. Also advancing to the final round of competition were the SIFE teams from Alpha Arts and Science College in India (3rd place) and Singapore Polytechnic from the host country of Singapore (4th place).

"This is a competition where the best business-minded students gather from around the world," said Bruce Nasby, SIFE International Executive Vice President. "When we get them together, amazing things happen. Not only do they share their passion for improving their communities through business principles, but they also make lasting friendships with students from other countries and interact with leading business executives from around the world."

SIFE is represented in 47 countries with more than 38,000 students enrolled in some 1,500 colleges and universities.

SIFE adalah satu badan organisasi yang membantu masyarakat luar meningkatkan taraf hidup mereka dalam bentuk Social Entrepreneurship.Seperti mana yang I pergi Pulau Pangkor last week, mulanya memang I tak tahu pun What is SIFE actually and after di beri pendedahan, barulah I tahu yang SIFE adalah satu badan organisasi yang telah lama popular bukan sahaja di Malaysia malah lebih dari 40 buah Negara.If masuk SIFE ni, memang 100% kena speak in English lah kan…

I pun bukan taw sangat…main cakap jer.Tapi yang I kagum dalam SIFE ni adalah semangat dalam pasukan.Kitorang actually akan create one project and will be present with others University.Team yang menang akan dibawa ke peringkat International untuk bertanding dengan 41 buah Negara lain.See???..macam mane besarnya komitmen dalam organization SIFE nie.Owh ya, lupa nak bagitahu.SIFE adalah satu badan organisasi yang bukan mengaut keuntungan.Tujuannya adalah lebih membantu masyarakat luar.Dari mana dapat sumber kewangan?..Kalau u all nak tahu,SIFE adalah badan organisasi yang mempunyai banyak sumber dana/penderma yang memberi dana kepada perjalanan SIFE ini.

Kelebihan yang I dapat bila I balik dari kursus SIFE ni ialah I lebih bersemangat,skill communication semakin bertambah,I lebih yakin untuk tampil beri pandangan dan banyak lagi.6 orang yang pergi kursus kat Pulau Pangkor hari tu akan cuba mencari student yang betul2 berminat dan ade komitmen sebab pertengahan tahun ni,Malaysia akan menjadi tuan rumah. So, student dari 41 buah Negara lain akan datang membentangkan project diorang untuk merebut award sekaligus mendapatkan dana untuk merealisasikan project yang diorang buat tu.Termasuklah universiti i. I baru je dapat email from Albert-Manager bahagian pengurusan dari Kuala Lumpur untuk menghantar senarai nama 20 pelajar yang menyertai program ini.
